Blue Equity launched a sports and entertainment division in 2006 by acquiring the business of basketball agent Bill Strickland. The company has since made eight additional acquisitions, including sports events company Team Championship International, FX Sports' former tennis, media, events and television divisions and the businesses of Joel Segal, a top NFL player agent, and Kenneth Crear, manager to musical artists including Janet Jackson.
BEST is one of the largest athlete representation firms in sports, with a client list approaching 200.
