LIVERPOOL FC KEEN TO SECURE NAMING RIGHTS DEAL

English Premier League club Liverpool FC’s American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, are reportedly keen to sign a naming rights deal for the club’s proposed new stadium.

According to local media reports, the club wants to raise £100 million. Liverpool yesterday submitted a planning application for a 60,000-seater stadium, scheduled to open in 2010.

The stadium is part of a £300 million investment by the club. It has the potential for capacity to increase to more than 75,000.
