OKUNNIWA TAKES HELM AT MEC SPONSORSHIP UK

Tove Okunniwa has been appointed to the new role of Head of MEC Sponsorship UK.

As part of the Mediedge:cia UK management team, Okunniwa will be responsible for managing the development and growth of the UK sponsorship business, and driving its integration within the Mediaedge:cia UK proposition. She will also be responsible for managing the existing client relationships including BT, Norwich Union and Specsavers, extending sponsorship services across the MEC UK client portfolio and driving new business.

Okunniwa’s appointment comes as a result of the continued growth of MEC Sponsorship, and the recent restructuring of the London-based division to create two dedicated teams supporting UK and International client business. She will report to Tom George, managing director Mediaedge:cia UK, and Jeremy Clark, managing director MEC Sponsorship EMEA, and will work in close collaboration with Julian Yeomans, Head of MEC Sponsorship Global Solutions.

Okunniwa will join in January from the BBC, where she was latterly head of marketing for Digital Access, before which she spent several years as head of marketing for BBC Sport.
