Ukraine is set to join Spain and Portugal's bid to host the 2030 Fifa World Cup after it was confirmed that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy backed the move.
Zelenskiy is understood to have spoken with Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and the Portuguese administration of António Costa about the plan, which would see Ukraine host one of the 16 groups in the opening stage of the 48-team tournament in 2030.
