Doha has been put forward as one of the candidate cities to host the event, and with the success of the current Asian Games, officials are keen to capitalise on its growing status on the sporting calendar.
Secretary general of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said: “We will keep trying until maybe we win one time.”
