England are set to kick-off their new era at the all-new Wembley Stadium against old foe Germany.
German soccer coach Joachim Loew appeared to let slip news his side would face England on August 22, 2007, in a friendly.
The match would be the first international fixture to be staged at the venue since its multi-million dollar rebuild.
However, the English FA have so far refused to confirm the date or match.
Germany were the last opponents England faced at the old Wembley in 2000 – inflicting a 1-0 defeat on them.
