Asian Television Network, Canada’s largest south Asian broadcaster, has diversified its sports portfolio by acquiring rights to club football competition the Indian Super League.
ATN will cover the 2018-19 ISL season, which kicked off last month and runs through to March. Matches will be provided live via the CBN, ATN Cricket Plus, ATN Life, ATN Punjabi Plus and ATN Bangla channels.
Last week, ATN acquired exclusive rights in Canada to new Twenty20 cricket competition the Afghanistan Premier League. ATN will broadcast live all 23 matches from the inaugural 2018 APL season, which commenced on Friday in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and runs through to October 23.
Shan Chandrasekar, president and chief executive of ATN, said: “Our commitment to bring different programming options to our viewers continue with this new addition to our current line-up of Afghanistan Premier League and the upcoming cricket series from Australia and New Zealand.”
