Asian Television Network, Canada’s largest south Asian broadcaster, has acquired exclusive rights in the country to new Twenty20 cricket competition the Afghanistan Premier League.
ATN will broadcast live all 23 matches from the inaugural 2018 APL season, which commences today (Friday) in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and runs through to October 23. Matches will be broadcast by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Network channel and ATN Cricket Plus.
Five franchises will contest the maiden APL season in the shape of Balkh Legends, Kabul Zwanan, Kandahar Knights, Paktia Panthers and Nangarhar Leopards. The league has long-term plans to develop into one of the world’s top-three franchise-based T20 competitions.
