Spanish handball league hails LaLiga TV partnership

LaLiga TV, the official television channel of the top division of Spanish football, has acquired rights to Liga Asobal, the top tier of domestic handball.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Liga described the agreement as the most important commercial contract in its 34-year history.

LaLiga TV will broadcast 130 matches per season on a free-to-air basis, including the Supercopa, Copa Asobal and Final 8 of the Copa del Rey.

A Liga statement read: “The alliance with LaLiga, will help us… give a boost to the promotion of handball and at a level that has never been done before.

“Although it is not the most important (factor), but also very necessary in the times we live in, the economic aspect of the contract exceeds in quantity, conditions and duration to anything we have had before.”
