Norwegian pay-television distributor RiksTV has extended its carriage deal with Modern Times Group under a new agreement that will give greater prominence to the sports channels operated by the multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster.
MTG’s sports channels, which had previously been sold in individual packages, will now be brought under RiksTV’s National Package. The length of the deal was not disclosed.
Viasat channels such as TV3, Viasat 4 and TV6 have a rights portfolio that includes football’s Uefa Champions League, Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A and English FA Cup, as well as North American ice hockey league the NHL and the Formula One motor-racing series.
The agreement also includes MTG’s eSportsTV channel, with RiksTV’s customers able to stream the content as well as watch on television.
