IMG to market Uefa rights in Indonesia

The IMG agency has agreed a deal with Uefa to exclusively sell and distribute the Indonesian rights to a host of upcoming national team tournaments organised by football’s European governing body.

The agreement covers qualifiers for Euro 2020 and the event itself, which will be staged across 13 European cities.

The deal also includes European qualifiers for the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar, as well as the new Nations League, which will launch next year and provide four qualifying places for Euro 2020.

Michael Mellor, senior vice-president of football at IMG Media, said: “There is a huge appetite for seeing top quality football in Indonesia. Viewers there are already used to seeing the top European players in action through coverage of the major leagues and the Champions and (Europa) Leagues.”
