German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has agreed a multi-year distribution deal for the IMG agency’s action sports and lifestyle channel Edgesport.
ProSiebenSat.1 has secured distribution rights for free-to-air television, pay-television and video-on-demand platforms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The deal also includes the rights to sublicense Edgesport content to third parties in other German-speaking markets.
Edgesport was launched by IMG in 2012 and currently broadcasts in 25 countries, reaching more than 300 million households. Edgesport offers international action sports events from the likes of snowboarding, surfing, kite surfing, mountain biking, skateboarding, free skiing, wakeboarding, BMX and motor sports.
