Turkish basketball league signs new title sponsor

Turkish real estate company Tahincioğlu has agreed to become the new title sponsor of the country’s Basketbol Süper Ligi top-tier club basketball competition.

The deal will run for three years, from the 2017-18 season until the 2019-20 campaign.

The league will now be known as the Tahincioğlu Basketbol Süper Ligi, with the company to benefit from branding on players’ jerseys and on various surfaces inside arenas at all Süper Ligi matches.

The agreement also includes joint promotional work with the league and a host of other collaborative activities, such as exposure through in-game highlights and mascot use.

In addition, Tahincioğlu will work with the league’s official broadcast partners to produce adverts that feature players from each team.

Özcan Tahincioğlu, chairman of Tahincioğlu, said: “This partnership marks a historic day for Tahincioğlu. We are aware that developed countries have long-term sports visions and make significant achievements in this context. Turkey has been making its name through numerous achievements in many sports branches.

“This success, which has reached all the way to claiming the top spot in European basketball, is a great source of pride for us. In order to keep this up and further amplify it, we are relaying the support we have provided for many projects, particularly in the area of culture, arts and education, to the sports arena through our cooperation with the Turkish Basketball Federation.”

The deal was brokered by the Infront Turkey arm of the Infront Sports & Media agency.
