Perth sports venue extends with naming rights partner

Private health insurer Nib Health Funds has extended its naming rights sponsorship of the Perth Oval, a multi-purpose sports stadium in Western Australia.

The new deal will run for three years, from July 2015 until July 2018.

Under the agreement, the venue will continue to be known as the Nib Stadium. The company first acquired the naming rights to the 20,441-seat stadium in 2010.

A-League football club Perth Glory plays its home games at the stadium, as does Western Force, a rugby union franchise that competes in Super Rugby. The stadium has also hosted National Rugby League teams Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and South Sydney Rabbitohs, which have both scheduled home games in Western Australia.

Mark Fitzgibbon, chief executive officer of Nib, said: “Through widespread references in the media and everyday conversations, the Nib name is now part of the Western Australia vernacular. The extension of our current naming rights arrangement not only reinforces Nib’s commitment to the venue’s future, but also to the growth and development of our business in Western Australia.”
