MLB’s Rangers in golf partnership

North American Major League Baseball franchise the Texas Rangers has agreed a naming-rights deal with a refurbished golf club near to its Globe Life Park home.

The Texas Rangers Golf Club is scheduled to open this summer as part of a wider development that also includes a new ballpark for the Rangers. The franchise is not due to move into its new Globe Life Field until 2020.

The City of Arlington will own the revamped golf club and has struck a deal with the Rangers to use team branding on the facility at no additional cost.

Once open, the Texas Rangers Golf Club will feature a new 33,871 sq ft clubhouse, with a restaurant and bar, pro shop, locker room and driving range. The project is expected to cost $24m (€19.6m).
