Liberty extends backing of Camogie Championships

Ireland’s Camogie Association women’s Gaelic sports organisation has extended its sponsorship deal with global insurance firm Liberty Insurance.

The company will continue to serve as title sponsor of the All-Ireland Camogie Championships for a further three years.

Liberty Insurance, which has been working with the Camogie Association since 2013, will also remain as sponsor of the Camogie All-Stars Awards.

According to Irish online news outlet The42.ie, the new deal is worth a total of €2.5m ($2.9m), including an investment of €750,000 in the second half of this year.

As part of the new agreement, Liberty Insurance will run a dedicated marketing campaign, focusing on a number of Camogie players and how Gaelic sport has helped them progress in life.

Deirdre Ashe, director of customer and markets at Liberty Insurance, said: “We are passionate advocates for greater involvement and awareness of Camogie and more broadly, all women in sport in Ireland.

“Through our collaboration with Camogie players and the Camogie Association, we know that the sport brings new skills and experience to girls and women in cities, towns and villages across the country.”
