Leicester, Huddersfield renew official partnerships

Leicester City has renewed its partnership with motor and travel insurance provider DirectAsia, while fellow English Premier League football club Huddersfield Town has extended a partnership with heating systems manufacturer Viessmann.

Leicester’s 12-month deal with DirectAsia, which operates in Thailand and Singapore, comes off the back of the pair’s initial one-year partnership.

DirectAsia chief executive Edip Okur said: “In Thailand alone we have grown our business rapidly to over 22,000 policies sold annually, with revenue growth of more than 500 per cent since 2015. Our customers greatly value our market-leading expertise and friendly, transparent and useful advice. We are planning to invest more in the country, building trust with the Thai people by maintaining our focus on the customer as our top priority.”

Leicester’s head of partnership engagement, Harj Hir, said: “Our activation in Direct Asia’s key territories provided an excellent return on investment during the 2016-17 season and will continue to work closely with DirectAsia in this next phase of our partnership.”

Meanwhile, newly-promoted Huddersfield will retain Viessmann as the club’s official heating partner, as well as its teamsheet sponsor. It will also become the exclusive title sponsor of ‘Club Town’, a new area of 64 executive heated seats situated behind both home and away dugouts at the John Smith Stadium.

The German company’s branding will appear on the heated seats, as well as in matchday programmes, on pitch-side display boards, on the teamsheets and on social media.

“The club’s commercial team puts great emphasis on brokering bespoke relationships with each of its partners to ensure that they get the maximum return for their investment and I believe that Viessmann’s commitment is proof that a relationship with Huddersfield Town can be of great benefit,” the club’s commercial director, Sean Jarvis, said.
