Hockey Canada agrees long-term Bauer renewal

Ice hockey equipment manufacturer Bauer Hockey has extended its partnership with Hockey Canada, the country's national governing body of ice hockey.

Bauer will remain the official equipment provider of Hockey Canada’s national teams for a further eight years. The two parties have been working together for 45 years, with Bauer having supplied kit to teams since 1996.

The company will exclusively provide Canadian players with helmets, gloves, visors and goal masks at all major events.

Hockey Canada and Bauer will also continue to collaborate on joint initiatives designed to boost interest in ice hockey, including the ‘Canadian Tire First Shift’ that is aimed at new-to-hockey families.

Scott Smith, president and chief operating officer at Hockey Canada, said: “Our partnership with Bauer provides Hockey Canada with the best equipment for our national men’s, women’s, and para hockey teams, while also aligning us with a like-minded organisation that cares about growing the game at the grassroots level.”
