Sunset+Vine acquires ECB archive rights

UK sports production and media company Sunset+Vine has agreed a four-year archive rights deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The agreement includes rights in every territory for all England international and domestic matches played in England and Wales from 1995 to the end of the 2013 season, along with international rights for these games pre-1995.

The ECB archive covers Test matches, one-day internationals, Twenty20 internationals and county cricket competitions across all formats of the sport.

Additionally, Sunset+Vine will develop the ECB catalogue and produce bespoke programming for broadcasters using existing archive footage.

Sunset+Vine has an established presence in cricket through content creation projects with the International Cricket Council, producing terrestrial television highlights of England internationals for commercial broadcaster Channel Five and a recent tie-up with the Marylebone Cricket Club to operate Lord’s Cricket Ground’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter pages.

Andrew Piller, commercial director at Sunset+Vine, said: “Sunset+Vine has a strong heritage in English cricket having produced award-winning programming for (commercial broadcaster) C4, and subsequently Channel Five, since 1999 as well as introducing Hawkeye as an integral tool for the modern game. We are proud of what we have contributed to the game and we are confident that we will continue to do so for many years to come.”
