Rio 2016 turns to Chinese sportswear partner

Chinese sportswear company 361° has agreed a deal to become an official supporter of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

361° will provide uniforms to Rio 2016 technical staff and volunteers, along with clothing for forthcoming test events and the Games’ torch relay.

The brand has previous multi-sport event experience in its home continent at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games in Guangzhou and Incheon respectively and the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing.

Rio 2016 said it had selected 361° following a year-long process of evaluating the production and sustainability standards of the company.

“Our group has long been seeking a partnership and there couldn’t be a better time to achieve this goal,” 361° chief executive Wuhao Ding said. “This is a milestone in our history and we are very happy that everyone will have the opportunity to get to know our brand and products in the country.”
