PCB to reduce length of rights offering

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revised its media rights-selling strategy by reducing the length of the rights that will be put out to the market.

The rights will begin next year and run for five years, until 2019, instead of eight years as previously planned, until 2022.

Ehsan Mani, the chairman of the board’s media rights committee, said that there had been concerns that the value of the deal might not reach expectations in the final three years, from 2020 to 2022.

The board has been selling rights for individual series and events this year.
