Viasat, the pay-television operator run by multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster Modern Times Group, will launch a new ultra-high-definition channel ahead of the start of the next football season.
Viasat Ultra HD will be the Nordic region’s first channel with 4K ultra-HD content.
The channel will focus on providing sports programming in the format, including coverage of football’s Uefa Champions League.
MTG has linked up with satellite operator SES and electronics company Samsung to support the launch of the channel.
The channel will be available via satellite in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
