Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports and commercial broadcaster Ten have acquired rights to the 2015 Netball World Cup national team event, which will take place in the country next year.
Fox Sports will broadcast live coverage of each game from the tournament while Ten will broadcast live the Australian national team’s matches on its Ten or One free-to-air channels.
Ten will also broadcast live Australia’s pool match against New Zealand, as well as the national side’s possible semi-final and final games if the team should reach these stages of the tournament.
Local organising committee chief executive Marne Fechner said: “The Netball World Cup Sydney 2015 promises to be the most successful World Cup in history, setting new benchmarks for international netball, and delivering a strong legacy for our sport and our broadcast coverage will be no exception.
“We’re confident that our Australian and international broadcast will again raise the bar and we look forward to making further announcements about international broadcast in the not too distant future.”
The 2015 World Cup will take place in Sydney from August 7-16.
