Belfast Giants embark on latest extension with main sponsor

Northern Irish Elite Ice Hockey League team the Belfast Giants has extended its main sponsor agreement with ferry company Stena Line.

The new one-year deal will cover the 2016-17 EIHL season. Under the agreement, the team will continue to be officially known as the Stena Line Belfast Giants.

“Stena Line supports the players by regularly transporting the players, and their loyal fans, to away games in the UK throughout the season as well as visiting teams who come to Belfast for their matches – so we have got to know the players very well and have a great relationship with them,” Diane Poole, head of PR and communications at Stena Line, said.

“The Stena Line Belfast Giants pride themselves in taking the time to get to know their fans and supporters should keep an eye out for news on fun promotions happening over the coming months that will allow them to get up close and personal with their favourite players.”

The 2016-17 season will mark Stena Line’s sixth successive season as the Giants’ title sponsor. The team finished the 2015-16 season in fourth place and begins the new campaign with an away game at Coventry Blaze on September 11.
