Aston Villa secures partner to boost online presence

English Premier League side Aston Villa has contracted online video firm Base79 to manage the football club’s content on its YouTube website.

Base79’s services will allow Villa to monetise its online video content, and also aims increase site traffic. The company will also manage the 4,700 fan-subscribed channel’s advertising sales, and advanced rights management of all official Aston Villa video content on Google's video platform.

Aston Villa will benefit from Base79's network of over 200 sports channels with an active audience of more than 2.5 million subscribers, as well as its sport partners, including the English Football Association, IMG, the French Football Federation and the Scottish Football Association.
