World Rugby details record reach for Women’s RWC

This year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup is set to be the most widely viewed edition of the national team tournament to date, with the event to be broadcast live to more than 110 countries.

The event will take place in Ireland from August 9-26.

World Rugby said the tournament will be shown in its home market by Irish pay-television broadcaster Eir Sports, with public-service broadcaster RTÉ to show free-to-air coverage of matches involving Ireland.

UK commercial broadcaster ITV will show the event in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

In France, international sports broadcaster Eurosport and public-service broadcaster France Télévisions will show coverage, with the NBC network to broadcast the event in the US.

Other deals have been signed with Spanish public-service broadcaster TVE, Australian pay-television operator Fox Sports and pay-television broadcaster Sky New Zealand.

In areas where no rights-holder has been assigned, the event will be streamed live on rwcwomens.com.

Clips will also be shown through the @worldrugby handle on social media platform Twitter.
