World Karate Federation launches online streaming platform

The World Karate Federation has launched a new online streaming platform that will allow fans to watch live coverage of leading events.

Karateworld.tv will provide worldwide coverage of the WKF World Championships, the Karate 1-Premier League and the European Championships, with other content to be made available.

Through Karateworld.tv, all five Karate 1-Premier League events throughout the year will be streamed live in high definition for the first time. Also for the first time, all medal bouts of the competition will be available for fans around the world.

Fans will be able to sign up to the annual ‘Black Belt’ service, which gives access to all premium content and live events. Alternatively, the ‘White Belt’ service will give fans the opportunity to watch one live event. The two services are priced at €50 ($53) and €10 respectively.

Content will be accessible in most countries, excluding territories which have television coverage or pre-existing streaming services.

The WKF has worked with International Sports Broadcasting, the host broadcaster and exclusive media-rights sales agency for the Karate 1-Premier League and Senior World Championships, to launch the platform.

The 2017 Karate 1-Premier League began in January in Paris, France and continues with an event in the Dutch city of Rotterdam this weekend. The final day of action from the tournament will be streamed live via Karateworld.tv.
