World Games set for record coverage

The International World Games Association has said the 2017 edition of its showpiece event will receive record levels of exposure across the world.

The 2017 World Games multi-sport event takes place in the Polish city Wroclaw from July 20-30 with over 3,000 athletes from 31 sports and over 110 countries set to take part.

After the host country, France is set to have the largest team of athletes and the IWGA said digital-terrestrial broadcaster L’Équipe will televise the event in France.

Match TV has acquired rights in Russia, while the World Games will be broadcast in Japan by commercial broadcaster TBS and pay-television operator Kwesé TV will distribute the event to more than 50 countries in Africa.

The International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Channel will present 235 hours of coverage of the World Games through a 24/7 online channel dedicated to the event on its global digital platform. The Games will also be broadcast on The World Games Channel, hosted by the IWGA.
