Virgin Media adds sleeve sponsorship to Southampton partnership

Internet services provider and pay-television operator Virgin Media has expanded its partnership with Southampton by becoming the sleeve sponsor of the English Premier League football club.

Virgin Media already serves as Southampton’s main kit sponsor and its branding will now appear on the sleeve, as well as the front, of the team’s home, away and goalkeeper shirts.

Virgin Media became the club’s main sponsor last summer, signing a three-year deal covering the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons.

Southampton’s commercial director, David Thomas, said: “This agreement is testament to the partnership that has been forged by the two organisations, and we look forward to continuing our work together this season.”

Premier League club and league representatives agreed to allow sleeve badge sponsors starting from the 2017-18 season in November 2016. The sponsor logos will be a maximum size of 10cm x 10cm. The Premier League badge will remain on the left sleeve of the shirts.
