Twitter to live stream boxing title fight

Social media platform Twitter has reached an agreement to stream live coverage in the United States of tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) WBO Lightweight world championship boxing match between Terry Flanagan and Petr Petrov.

The live stream will be available for free to logged-in and logged-out users exclusively on Twitter and connected devices in the US.

The stream will be accessible at boxing.twitter.com and via the official account of fight promoter Banner Promotions.

Banner Promotions president Artie Pelullo said: “This is a great opportunity to partner with Twitter on this unique medium, in order to reach a broader fan base and to reach potential new fans of boxing.”

England’s Flanagan will be seeking to defend his world title for the fifth time, while Spain’s Petrov has won six straight bouts. The fight will take place at the Manchester Arena in Flanagan’s home city.
