Tokyo 2020 prints new partners

Japanese printing companies Dai Nippon and Toppan have signed on as sponsors of the Tokyo 2020 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Both companies will serve as official partners, the second domestic tier of the Tokyo 2020 sponsorship programme. Dai Nippon and Toppan have each been assigned the ‘printing services’ category.

As official partners, the companies will be granted the right to use Olympic and Paralympic designations and imagery including emblems, mascots and slogans. They will also serve as partners of Japan’s Olympic and Paralympic teams.

“Both these companies are leading players in the Japanese printing industry, and have very distinguished histories that stretch back well over a century,” Tokyo 2020 president Yoshiro Mori said. “They were actively involved in the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games, printing promotional posters and providing other printing services.

“With their comprehensive printing services that include leading-edge anti-counterfeiting technologies, I am confident that DNP and Toppan will make a significant contribution to the successful delivery of the Tokyo 2020 Games.”

The agreements bring the total number of Tokyo 2020 domestic partners to 42, including 27 official partners.
