Tencent signs digital media partnership for French Open

Chinese internet company Tencent has signed an exclusive digital media partnership with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) for coverage of the French Open grand slam tournament at Roland-Garros.

The five-year deal covers this year’s ongoing tournament and will extend through to the 2021 edition.

Under the agreement, Tencent Sports will create a French Open content platform delivering programmes and exclusive data to their users in China. This will feature live streaming, on-demand services, video highlights and interactive content.

A Chinese language version of the French Open website will also be produced. Tencent said it will offer full live broadcast of the French Open starting from the 2019 tournament.

In addition, FFT and Tencent Sports will jointly promote the French Open junior wild card competitions in China.
