Swiss telecommunications group Swisscom has extended and expanded its long-term carriage agreement with the Discovery Networks Deutschland division of international media and entertainment company Discovery Communications.
The length of the new deal was not disclosed, but the entire Discovery portfolio and newly acquired premium live sport on international broadcaster Eurosport, most notably exclusive Friday night football from the German Bundesliga, will be accessible to Swisscom viewers.
In a significant expansion of the relationship, subscribers of Swisscom and its subsidiary Teleclub will have access to Eurosport Player, the internet-based television, streaming and catch up-service for sports content, in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
This will provide content including every moment of the 2018 winter Olympic Games and 40 exclusive Bundesliga matches a season, as well as the curtain-raising Super Cup and four end-of-season relegation play-off fixtures.
