Swiss destinations to be promoted at World Curling Championships

Swiss tourism bodies Titlis Cableways and Lucerne Tourism have signed on as main sponsors of the 2017 World Women’s Curling Championship and the 2018 World Men’s Curling Championship.

The women’s event takes place in the Chinese capital of Beijing from March 18-26, with the men’s tournament to be held in the US city of Las Vegas from March 31 to April 8, 2018.

Titlis Cableways and Lucerne Tourism will benefit from TV-visible brand exposure through rink-side advertising boards and in interview backdrops.

Titlis Cableways’ logo will also feature on the players’ jerseys at next year’s men’s event. A television advertising campaign with international sports broadcaster Eurosport, a rights-holder of the championship, also forms part of the package.

The partnerships were brokered by the Infront Sports & Media agency, the World Curling Federation’s exclusive media and marketing partner.

"Lucerne and the experiences in the surrounding region are very popular with Asian and American tourists,” Marcel Perren, director of Lucerne Tourism, said. “We see the World Curling Championships as the ideal platform to increase Lucerne’s recognition even more. As main sponsors of the next two tournaments, Infront has once again offered an excellent opportunity to reach our international target audience.

“Furthermore, the cooperation with Titlis Cableways allows us to combine forces and to thereby highlight the diversity the region offers.”
