SuperSport serves up renewal of French Open rights

SuperSport, the pay-television broadcaster that operates in sub-Saharan Africa, has agreed a four-year extension to its rights deal for tennis grand slam the French Open.

The new contract with the Fédération Française de Tennis, the governing body of tennis in France, will run from 2018 to 2021 and covers 54 countries.

The agreement incorporates television and digital rights to the annual tournament held at Roland Garros in Paris.

The countries included under the deal are: South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritius, Mayotte, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Central African Republic, Reunion, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Seychelles, Socotra, Saint Helena and Ascension, Swaziland, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Zambia, Chad, Djibouti, Mauritania, Somalia and Sudan.
