US-based multi-platform sports network Stadium has agreed a deal with social media platform Facebook to stream live coverage of US college basketball games.
The one-year deal will cover the 2017-18 academic year and include a total of 46 games from conferences such as the Atlantic 10, Conference USA, Mountain West and West Coast.
Games will be streamed exclusively via the Live: Stadium College Basketball page on Facebook. Each live stream will also feature various production assets and social elements.
In addition, Stadium will produce a weekly live studio show dedicated to college basketball. The 30-minute programme will feature on Watch via the Live: Stadium College Basketball page every Wednesday, beginning on November 29.
Stadium already has a deal in place with Facebook under which the social media platform streams coverage of college American football games. This season, 13 live games have been streamed on Facebook, with a further two scheduled.
Stadium said the 13 games have attracted more than 10 million total views and over 70,000 real-time comments from fans watching live.
