Sportkanalen, the sports channel operated by Swedish pay-television broadcaster C More, has extended its content partnership with US sports broadcaster ESPN into 2019.
The agreement means Sportkanalen will next year broadcast ESPN’s action sports franchise the X Games, whose 2019 line-up currently consists of a winter edition in Aspen from January 24-27 and a summer event in Minneapolis from August 1-4. The deal was struck with ESPN Media Distribution.
Sportkanalen will also showcase World of X and Tough Mudder, as well as about 50 documentary films produced by ESPN. This content will be offered as part of an action sports programming block from around midnight local time.
Sportkanalen will offer a preview of its new partnership when it broadcasts the final X Games event of 2018, which takes place in Sydney, Australia from October 19-21.
