Christian Gruber has been named as the new chairman of the management team at German sports broadcaster Sport1 Media.
Gruber will replace Patrick Fischer, who is leaving the role “on the best of terms” to pursue new career challenges, on a full-time basis on September 1.
Gruber joined Sport1 in January this year as senior director of client sales and member of the management. He is already responsible for direct client business and the digital sector at the Constantin Medien subsidiary.
Gruber will report to Constantin chief executive Olaf Schröder.
Last month, Sport1 and the OneFootball digital platform acquired rights to the International Champions Cup pre-season football tournament.
