Sky picks up Uefa Euro U-21, boxing rights

UK pay-television broadcaster Sky has acquired rights for the next three editions of the Uefa European Under-21 Championship, starting with this year’s event in Poland.

The 2017 edition of the international football tournament will run from June 16-30. The 2019 edition will be co-hosted by Italy and San Marino, while the destination for the 2021 competition has not been decided yet.

Sky will provide live coverage of the tournaments.

In other news, Sky has acquired rights for the light-heavyweight world title boxing rematch between Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev in Las Vegas. Sky will provide coverage of the bout in the early hours of June 18, although the exact channel has not been confirmed yet. Ward secured a controversial victory on points against Kovalev in November.
