Sky New Zealand picks up Baku 2015 rights

Pay-television broadcaster Sky New Zealand has acquired rights in the country to this year’s inaugural edition of the European Games multi-sport event.

Sky will broadcast coverage of the Games via two dedicated 24-hour Sky Sport pop-up channels.

Sky is the latest non-European broadcaster to acquire rights to the Games, alongside deals struck with networks from countries such as India, Australia, Japan and China, as well as the Arab region and the Americas.

The 2015 European Games take place in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku from June 12-28.
