Sina Sports strikes digital deal for French Open

The Sina Sports division of Chinese internet operator Sina has secured a strategic partnership with the operators of this year’s French Open tennis tournament.

Sina Sports will launch a dedicated event page on its digital platform, where fans in China will be able to gain access to video highlights, player interviews, live scoreboards and other Chinese-language content.

Sina Sports will be the only digital entity outside the Fox International Channels broadcast subsidiary of US media company 21st Century Fox, the official French Open broadcaster in China, to offer highlights from the event in the country.

As part of the agreement, Sina Sports will also promote this year’s event across its various Sina Weibo microblogging websites.

The 2016 French Open started yesterday (Sunday) and will run until June 5 at Roland Garros, Paris.
