Enterprise application software provider SAP has expanded a partnership with World Sailing.
Under the new deal, SAP will become the official technology partner of the governing body’s 2018 Sailing World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. The event will serve as the primary qualifying competition for the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
SAP already supported World Sailing’s World Cup Series, providing in-depth analysis that has benefited sailors and transformed the fan experience.
“Data analytics and insights will be vital to the future of sailing and will add to the promotion of the races and the sport,” said Lars Lundov, chief executive of Sport Event Denmark, one of the partners of the event.
“We therefore look forward to be part of the innovations together with SAP and World Sailing in Aarhus at the Hempel Sailing World Championships this summer.”
The Sailing World Championships will run from July 30 to August 12.
