RugbyPass extends rights to Australian event

OTT platform RugbyPass has extended its deal for exclusive coverage of the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens event across its 23 Asian territories.

The deal is a renewal of rights from the inaugural event in 2017 and covers this year’s competition which runs from February 9-10.

This year’s event features more than 300 stars from all of the Australian and New Zealand Super Rugby franchises, plus the Fiji national team, Japanese Top League team Panasonic Wild Knights and French Top 14 club Pau.

Tim Martin, founder and chief executive of RugbyPass, said: “Last year’s inaugural event was watched by hordes of fans on RugbyPass and the positive feedback we received from our subscribers made this renewal a high priority as we look ahead to Super Rugby kick-off on February 17.”
