Roma signs ridesharing partner

Italian Serie A football club AS Roma has named German car rental company car2go as its official mobility sharing partner.

The partnership will allow Roma fans to travel to and from matches at the Stadio Olimpico with greater ease. The length of the agreement was not disclosed.

Users will be able to hire vehicles on a short-term basis by picking them up and dropping them off at designated collection points. The service is charged based on either the time used or distance travelled.

Roma supporters will receive €5 ($6) of driving time with car2go by entering a promotional code when registering with the company online. Every time a fan arrives at the Olimpico for a Roma match using a car2go vehicle, they will also receive an additional 10 minutes of free driving time.

Vehicles can be parked in blue parking bays across Rome at no cost, with no extra charge given to fans parking at the Faravelli car park near the Olimpico.

All car2go users will also be entitled to a 10 per cent discount on Roma merchandise at the club’s official stores on Via del Corso, and at Piazza Colonna and Roma Est.
