Qatar Airways links up with IPTL

Qatar Airways has signed up as a presenting sponsor of the inaugural International Premier Tennis League (IPTL), which will begin tomorrow (Friday).

Qatar’s national airline has become the latest brand to link up with the series, following the recent announcement that soft drinks giant Coca-Cola would serve as the title sponsor.

The league will take place in Manila, the Philippines; Singapore; New Delhi, India; and Dubai, UAE and will run through to December 13.

“Qatar Airways’ legacy as a committed sponsor of global sports events is well known,” the head of the league, Mahesh Bhupathi, said. “We’re glad to partner with an award winning airline like them as presenting sponsor and look forward to enjoying a long and fruitful association during and after the IPTL season.”

Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, H.E. Akbar Al Baker, added: “At Qatar Airways, we have a long-standing history of associations with large-scale sporting events which allows us to connect with sporting fans and legendary sportsmen across the globe through our widespread global  route network. Qatar Airways’ association with this event will further promote the game among the increasing fan base of tennis enthusiasts across the world.”
