Pyeongchang 2018 lands Korean partner

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has agreed a deal to become an official partner of the 2018 edition of the winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will take place in Pyeongchang, Korea.

KEPCO becomes the first Korean public enterprise to support the Games.

As part of the agreement, the company has been providing electicity utility services in venues and temporary facilities for the Games’ organising committee (POCOG).

KEPCO will also receive a range of marketing benefits, including the use of the official Pyeongchang 2018 logo and a promotional booth at the Olympic Plaza and Olympic Park during the Games.

POCOG president Lee Hee-beom said: “Energy is one of the critical elements of our Games, but so is the environmental impact that we leave behind. We are keen to work with a partner who share our vision and values around sustainability and we have this with KEPCO and look forward to working with them until the end of the Games.”
