Panasonic steps up Paralympic commitment with USOC deal

Japanese consumer electronics company Panasonic has entered into a partnership with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), through which it will support the country’s Paralympic team through until the 2020 summer Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Panasonic already serves as a worldwide partner of the International Paralympic Committee, having provided audio-visual equipment for the summer and winter Games since 1998.

Together with the USOC, Panasonic will promote the Paralympic Movement in the US and strive to create a more inclusive society for people with disabilities. Panasonic will also offer products and services as part of the agreement.

Lauren Sallata, vice-president and chief marketing officer for Panasonic North America, said: “Panasonic has been a proud sponsor of the US Olympic team since 1988, and this next evolution of our partnership truly underscores Panasonic's commitment and dedication to both Team USA and the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.”
