Nova confirms club deals as Superleague rights model changes

Greek pay-television broadcaster Nova has confirmed individual rights deals with five Superleague football clubs as the top division of domestic football moves away from a collective rights selling model.

Nova said it has signed deals for the 2018-19 season with Athlitiki Enosi Larissa, Asteras Tripolis, Levadiakos, Panionios and PAS Giannina. These contracts are added to deals already signed with AEK Athens, Olympiacos and PAOK.

The agreements with the five clubs cover their home games in the Superleague and friendly matches.

Nova’s current collective deal for Superleague rights, which only excludes rights to the home matches of PAOK, covers the 2017-18 season.

The broadcaster decided against taking up its option of another season, 2018-19, and its attempt to negotiate a lower fee with the league as a collective has fallen apart.
