Nordic World Ski Championships lands main sponsor

Energy systems manufacturer Viessmann has furthered its ties in winter sport by signing on as a main sponsor of the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 and 2021.

The 2019 competition will be staged in Seefeld, Austria, with Oberstdorf in Germany to host the 2021 event.

Viessmann will benefit from a comprehensive presence at all World Championship competitions via LED boards at the ski jumping stadium, cross-country stadium and cross-country track.

The company’s logo will also feature on athlete bibs, event leaderboards and the award ceremony backdrop during the Large Hill Individual Ski Jumping Men competition, the Nordic Combined Normal Hill Men and the Cross Country Ladies’ Relay.

Further promotion will be provided on installations around the start and finish area, including the start back wall, exit gate and finish installations, while promotion rights, a hospitality contingent and integration across event-related print materials will also be provided.

The deal was brokered by the Infront agency, the exclusive marketing partner of the event.

Florian Fehr, head of sports sponsoring at Viessmann, said: “Viessmann has been active in winter sports sponsoring for more than 25 years. It has long been one of the central elements of marketing communication and we are pleased that with the support of Infront we will be part of the upcoming FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. With this commitment we intend to reach even more people and inspire our initiative 'We are #Winterfans' for more sustainability in winter sports.”
