NHRA renews with Papa John’s

Pizza delivery company Papa John’s has extended its sponsorship deal with North American motorsport organisation the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).

Papa John’s will retain its role as the official pizza sponsor of the NHRA for the 2018 drag-racing season.

The company began its affiliation with the series in 2016 when it became a sponsor of Top Fuel drag racer Leah Pritchett and Don Schumacher Racing.

As part of the renewed deal, Pritchett will be on site at various Papa John’s locations in the US this year to make pizzas for fans. All events will be streamed live on social media platform Facebook.

In addition, Papa John’s and Pritchett will continue to take part in the NHRA’s Charity Challenge racing series to raise money for returning military personnel and their families.

Brad Gerber, vice-president and chief development officer at the NHRA, said: “The NHRA provides high-speed excitement to more fans each year, and our growth creates a powerful platform of opportunities for sponsors like Papa John’s.”
